Our Story: From a Vision to a Global Gathering

The Engineering Gathering (TEN-G) was born from a simple but ground-shaking realization: while Africa holds the keys to the next great industrial revolution, the hands turning those keys—our women, our youth, and our practitioners—often work in silos.

​

Founded by the Women’s Engineering Network (WEN) Global, TENG was conceived as more than just a conference. It was designed to be the "Nexus"—the point where the experience of veteran policymakers meets the raw innovation of young engineers. We didn't want another "talk shop"; we wanted an action-based engine that drives infrastructure, equity, and global collaboration.

Unlike traditional engineering summits, TENG is built on the "Pipeline Principle." We don't just celebrate success; we build the infrastructure for it.

• Inclusive by Design: We believe that when you come together, the world comes together. Our unique structure—featuring female-only student chapters working alongside a co-ed Youth Forum—ensures that diversity is our greatest technical asset.

• Action as a Currency: Every panel and breakout session is geared toward one goal: Actionable Plans. We measure our success not by the number of attendees, but by the MoUs signed and the regional problems solved.
